Other Areas We Feature
boardyeti also has a access to all snowboarding resorts throughout
the world including Japan, Chile, Sweden, Bulgaria and Slovenia;
wherever you want to take your next holiday let us take you there!
Going against our principles of direct/near access to the slopes
we thought we should offer you alternative regions where you may
have to use a well organised bus service...
Ruka - Finland
This is more than just a snow-sure boarding holiday, it's an experience
in itself. Ruka offers boarding into late April, during December
- February you will experience shorter daylight hours, although
slopes are floodlit during this period. Slopes are generally uncrowded,
so it's an ideal place for children aged 7 years and upwards to
learn to board. Both sides of the fell are linked by chair lifts
with a short bus ride to each other if you don’t fancy the challenge
on the first few days. Accommodation is either in hotels right in
the resort centre or log cabins dotted around the forests connected
by the free bus, great for families with all ages of children. Families
will love the short transfer from the airport and can take advantage
of the numerous family friendly excursions to keep the children
happy off the slopes. The husky safari is a real must and the younger
children will enjoy meeting Santa in his secret cottage. The resort
itself is very compact, with a few shops, bars, restaurants and
a large supermarket so this resort is not recommended to those seeking
nightlife and clubs.
Hemsedal - Norway
Famous for snowboarding events, Hemsedal is not the cheapest place
on earth by any means, but the snow-sure resort is a clear winner
and appeals to beginners, intermediates and advanced boarders. The
slopes are accessed by a short transfer from the resort centre by
a regular free shuttle bus a mere 3km away, the lift system is not
all drag lifts with a mixture of chairs thrown in for good measure.
During the winter season on various nights of the week, Hemsedal
offers night time flood-lit boarding to make the most of your time
on the slopes, off the slopes there is a host of family friendly
activities, plus snowmobiling and ice climbing. The resort itself
offers 9 or so drinking holes during the evening and just over twenty
restaurants if you fancy a bite to eat. For youngsters during the
day the resort operates a kindergarden and a children's club to
keep the children happy whilst you enjoy the slopes. |
